The south coast is the short drive from SSR Airport: Mahébourg and Blue Bay in well under an hour for many trips, then Gris Gris and Souillac further west along the wild shore. It is the useful last night when the flight home is early, and a poor place to explore the cliffs after dark.
What order works along the south coast?
Rochester Falls can share a south day if you start early. It should not share a day with Chamarel and a flight. The south is also the easiest place to return a car the night before an early SSR departure: sleep in Mahébourg, hand the keys over in the morning, and skip a cross-island alarm.
