Who can rent a car from Tiloto?
Visitors and Mauritius residents can both rent from Tiloto.com. The driver needs a valid licence held for at least one year and photo ID: a passport for visitors, or a national identity card for residents.
Can Tiloto deliver a rental car to SSR International Airport?
Yes. Tiloto delivers and collects at SSR International Airport (MRU), near Plaine Magnien. Send your flight number on WhatsApp so the handoff can follow immigration and baggage claim.
Do you deliver rental cars to hotels in Mauritius?
Yes. Tiloto can hand the car over at major hotels across Mauritius as well as at SSR Airport. Tell us the hotel name when you book.
What is the minimum driver age to rent a car in Mauritius with Tiloto?
Drivers must typically be at least 23 years old and have held a valid licence for at least one year. If you are under 25, confirm your age on WhatsApp before you book.
Do I need an International Driving Permit to rent a car in Mauritius?
Visitors need a valid driving licence held for at least one year. An International Driving Permit is recommended when the licence is not in English or French. Carry your passport with the rental papers.
Are Tiloto rental cars automatic?
Yes. The whole Tiloto fleet is automatic: Suzuki S-Presso, Suzuki Swift, and Suzuki Ertiga. There is no manual option.

Is insurance included in the Tiloto daily rate?
Basic insurance is included in the daily rate. The excess, and any optional reduction, is confirmed on WhatsApp before pickup. Tiloto does not publish a blanket excess figure because it is confirmed for your rental.
What is the fuel policy for a Tiloto rental car?
The fuel level at handover is confirmed on WhatsApp before pickup, together with where to refuel near your return point. Larger stations on the coastal roads usually take cards. Keep a little Mauritian rupee cash for smaller stops.
Can I request a child seat with a Mauritius rental car?
Yes. Ask for a child seat on WhatsApp when you send your dates. Availability is confirmed before pickup. Tiloto does not add a published seat fee on the website.

What is the Tiloto cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before pickup for a full refund of any deposit that was taken. A later cancellation may incur a one-day charge.
Are there tolls when driving in Mauritius?
The M1 and M2 motorways do not have toll booths. You do not need a toll tag for a normal loop between SSR Airport, the west coast, Grand Baie, and the east coast.
Which side of the road do you drive on in Mauritius?
Mauritius drives on the left, like the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Japan. At roundabouts, give way to vehicles already circulating on your right, and follow the local signs.
